North Bass Trail

Day 1
Meet at Kaibab Lodge in the early afternoon. Carpool 19.6 back road miles to Swamp Point where we will camp.

Day 2
Descend the North Bass trail, explore the Muav Cabin where Teddy Roosevelt camped, we will drop a cache of water on the Redwall at mile 4.5 and continue another 7.5 miles to our camp at Shinimu Creek, one of the more pristine areas of the Grand Canyon, fringed with cottonwoods and willows that add charm to the canyon.

Day 3
We will hike to the Colorado River and explore the old Bass Camps along the way, where relics were left behind. We will be afforded memorable views of the Colorado and Bass Rapids.

Day 4
Hike out to the Redwall, retrieve cached water and set up camp.

Day 5
We will hike out to the rim and drive back to the Kaibab Lodge.
